“Mom what is the difference between Football and Soccer?”
This was my little girl’s query when she saw the early evening show “ Fulbolilits” on our local TV network. I was tongue tied and was not able to answer directly because honestly I do not know what’s the difference . Having overheard my girl’s question, my hubby came to the rescue and explained some similarities and differences.
He started by enlightening us that Football is used mostly with the hands to control the ball and that in Soccer you kick the ball and they not allowed using their hands at all. If they a player will use his hands, a foul is called then the other team gets control of the game. European Football is what most people call soccer. He added that American Football is played with a ball in diamond –shape while soccer is played with a round shaped ball. What made it look seminar is that soccer games are played in a Football fields.
When we asked what’s the scoring rules between the two games, my hubby told us that football is a more complicated sport compared to soccer with it comes to flags and penalties. I was tempted to ask about Rugby Games, but my little girl started to get confused . Anyway, I will just asked Mr. Google about it or get “promotional coupons” and “discount vouchers” to register to Football and Rugby games online.
